What is the difference between the two versions?
The fixed placard is permanently mounted. The flip / insertable version lets the plate be changed when the load category changes.
Why is the face reflective?
So the plate stays readable in headlights at night and in poor visibility.

Signage is judged on legibility distance
A warning sign is specified by the distance at which it must be read, which sets the character height and therefore the plate size. Confirm the reading distance before choosing the material grade.
What to confirm before ordering
- Substrate: flat panel, aluminium, plastic or vehicle body - the adhesive follows the surface.
- Service life and exposure: indoor, outdoor or road-facing, and for how many years.
- Grade: commercial, engineering or high intensity, chosen against viewing distance rather than price.
- Regulation in scope: signage and vehicle marking rules are separate from garment standards.
Compliance note
No single retroreflective figure is quoted for this build, and a number without its test method and wash cycle would not be comparable anyway. Confirm the measured value for the grade you order, on the substrate you order it on.
If the finished article has to carry an EN ISO 20471 or ANSI/ISEA 107 claim, say so before the order: the grade and the evidence are chosen together, and changing either afterwards means a new build.
