Safety Pants
The half of a figure that gets seen last.
Trousers decide whether the lower body is visible at all. Three builds: navy with fluorescent knees, full-leg fluorescent cargo, and a bib and brace that stays put.
What we supply
High-visibility clothing is usually specified from the waist up, and the lower body is treated as an afterthought. That is the wrong way round for the situation that matters most: standing behind a vehicle, the legs are the part a driver sees first and the part a wheel arch hides. The three builds here differ in how much fluorescent area they carry — navy legs with fluorescent knees against a fully fluorescent leg — because that is what actually changes which class a garment can meet. All three carry reflective banding above the knee and at the ankle, and all three are supplied with an uncropped hem so leg length can be altered without cutting through a band.

FAQ | Safety pants
What buyers ask before specifying high-visibility trousers — fluorescent area, band placement, and how the builds differ.
Why is the reflective band above the knee rather than across it?
A band across the kneecap takes every kneel and every crawl under plant, so it abrades first and fails first. Placing it just above the knee keeps the reflective surface intact for longer, and that position is also what a driver picks up first when a worker stands behind a vehicle.
What is the real difference between the navy build and the cargo build?
Fluorescent area, not pockets. A standard governing high-visibility clothing counts fluorescent area and reflective area separately, and trousers that are fluorescent only at the knee carry far less of the first than trousers that are fluorescent through the whole leg. Which build reaches which class is confirmed against the actual garment at order stage.
When should I choose a bib and brace instead of trousers?
When the wearer bends, crawls or reaches overhead for most of the shift, and when the chest and back need covering without a separate vest. The braces carry the garment, so it does not slide down — but that also means the braces are a load path and are stitched as structure rather than as decoration.
Can the legs be shortened on site?
Yes, which is why the hem is supplied uncropped. That matters because cutting through a band destroys both the reflective surface and the class of the garment, so the ankle band is placed to leave room for a normal alteration.
Do the trousers have to match the jacket?
Not strictly, but a mismatch shows under a headlight — two different fluorescent batches read as two different yellows. If the trousers and jacket are bought together they are matched as one build; if they are bought separately, send the reference of the existing garment so the fluorescent can be matched against it.
Are they waterproof?
No. These are polycotton work trousers with reflective banding, not coated rainwear. For wet weather the rain suit and long raincoat in this clothing range are the correct pieces, and the trousers here are worn under them.
How do they wash?
Wash performance is confirmed per build against the wash programme supplied with the order. Abrasion is the main risk to the banding, so on trousers that see kneeling and contact with plant the band placement and stitching matter as much as the material. Industrial laundering is a separate specification.
Can they be branded or have a company name added?
Yes. Printing and heat-applied marks are specified per order; send vector artwork with the placement marked. Keep marks off the fluorescent panels where possible — a large mark reduces fluorescent area and can change the class of the garment.
Fluorescent area, band width and the resulting standard class are confirmed at order stage for the specific build. Hem is supplied uncropped so it can be altered on site without cutting a reflective band. Reflective banding returns light toward its source and does not glow on its own.
Tell us the role and the standard.
Send the working role, whether the trousers have to meet a formal class, and the leg length, and the answer comes back with the build and a price.
