Safety Gloves

Three pairs of work gloves: white leather gauntlets, grey nitrile coated glove and blue cut resistant gloves
PPE · Hand protection

Safety gloves by the hazard, not by the colour

Three gloves on this page cover three different hazards: oil and abrasion, sharp edges, and heat. Choosing between them is a question about what the hand is touching, not about which one looks tougher.

What we supply

A glove is only protective against the hazard it was tested for. A nitrile dip helps with oil and grip and does nothing for a blade. A cut-resistant liner helps with a blade and offers little against heat. The three builds below are chosen so the difference is visible before anyone puts them on.

Nitrile Coated Work Gloves

Grip where there is oil

Nitrile Coated Work Gloves

RS-P-GL-01

Grey knit liner, black nitrile palm. Nitrile holds grip on lightly oiled parts where a plain knit glove slips, and the open back keeps the hand from cooking.

  • Seamless knitted liner
  • Nitrile palm and finger dip
  • Elastic knit cuff
  • Open knit back

Liner Seamless knit
Cuff Elastic knit wrist
Typical use Assembly, warehouse, light maintenance
Cut Resistant Gloves

For the sharp edge

Cut Resistant Gloves

RS-P-GL-02

High performance fibre liner with a coated palm. The liner carries the cut resistance and the coating carries the grip — you need both on sheet metal.

  • HPPE blend liner
  • Coated palm for grip
  • Knitted elastic wrist
  • Size colour coded on the cuff

Leather & Welding Gloves

Char, not melt

Leather & Welding Gloves

RS-P-GL-03

Leather gauntlets with a long cuff. Spatter runs down the arm instead of into the sleeve, and leather chars where a synthetic would melt onto the skin.

  • Leather palm and back
  • Long gauntlet cuff
  • Heat resistant seam stitching
  • Unlined or lined to specification

FAQ | Choosing a safety glove

The questions that actually decide the specification.

Which glove do I need for handling oily metal parts?

The nitrile coated glove. The coating is what keeps grip on an oiled surface, and the knit back stops the hand overheating over a shift.

Is a cut resistant glove also heat resistant?

No. The cut resistant build is a fibre liner with a grip coating — it is chosen for sharp edges and it is not a heat glove. Hot work needs the leather gauntlet.

Why are welding gloves leather rather than coated?

Because leather chars instead of melting. A synthetic coating softens and can fuse to skin at temperatures that leather survives, which is the whole reason welding gloves are still leather.

Can I wear a nitrile glove under a cut resistant glove?

Yes, and it is common where parts are both oily and sharp. Size the outer glove up one step so the liner does not bunch at the knuckles.

What cut level should I specify?

State the material and the edge instead of naming a level. Cut level follows the hazard, and the liner changes with the level — confirming it at order stage is the only way to get both right.

Do you supply mixed sizes in one carton?

Yes. Send the size split with the order and the pairs are packed per size. Assorted cartons are only sent when they are asked for.

Are these gloves touchscreen compatible?

The nitrile and cut resistant builds are not specified for touchscreen use. If that matters for the task, say so at order stage — it changes the coating.

How should they be washed?

Cool water, mild detergent, air dry away from direct heat. Do not tumble dry a coated glove; the coating cracks and the grip goes with it.

Glove sizing runs in whole sizes with a half size at the top end. Send the size split with the order and the pairs are packed per size rather than assorted.

Not sure which glove the task needs?

Describe the material being handled, whether it is wet, oily or sharp, and the temperature. That is enough to narrow it to one build and one test level.
