PPE
PPE — Gloves, Helmets, Face Shields, Glasses & Ear Defenders
Five protection areas, eleven builds. Each one is chosen by the hazard it sits between the wearer and, and by what else has to be worn at the same time — a helmet over the defenders, spectacles under the shield.
PPE by the Body Area It Protects
Hands, head, face, eyes, hearing. The two builds in each family are not good and better — they answer different conditions.

Safety Gloves
RS-P-GL-01 … 03
Nitrile for oily and abrasive parts, cut-resistant for sharp edges, leather for heat. The choice is about what the hand is touching, not the colour of the glove.

Safety Helmets
RS-P-HM-01 … 02
ABS as the general-purpose shell. Fibreglass where the site names a thermoset, or where the shell sees sustained heat that would soften ABS.

Face Shields
RS-P-FS-01 … 02
A welding mask filters light; a face shield stops splash and particles. Neither replaces safety spectacles underneath, and neither is a respirator.

Safety Glasses
RS-P-GS-01 … 02
A wrap-around spectacle for direct wear, and an over-glasses frame with the internal clearance a prescription pair needs. The difference is the fit, not the style.

Safety Earmuffs
RS-P-EM-01 … 02
A padded band for long continuous shifts, and a slim wire band for work where a helmet or bulky headgear has to go over the top.

Send the hazard, the shift length, and whatever else the wearer has to wear at the same time. Compatibility is usually the deciding factor, not the product.
Ask for a match →Start From the Hazard, Not the Product
The same body area can need two different products depending on what is arriving at it.
| Area | Protects against | Builds | The decision that matters | SKU |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hands | Oil and abrasion, sharp edges, heat | Nitrile, cut-resistant, leather | A cut-resistant glove is not a heat glove | RS-P-GL-01…03 |
| Head | Impact, sustained heat | ABS, fibreglass | Move to fibreglass only for a named thermoset or real heat | RS-P-HM-01…02 |
| Face | Weld light, splash, particles | Welding mask, face shield | A mask filters light; a shield stops splash | RS-P-FS-01…02 |
| Eyes | Impact, particulate | Wrap-around, over-glasses | Over-glasses only if a prescription pair sits underneath | RS-P-GS-01…02 |
| Hearing | Noise | Padded foldable, slim wire band | Slim wire band if a helmet is worn over it | RS-P-EM-01…02 |

Frequently Asked Questions
Is a cut resistant glove also heat resistant?
No. The cut-resistant build is a fibre liner with a grip coating, chosen for sharp edges. It is not a heat glove. Hot work needs the leather gauntlet, because leather chars instead of melting at temperatures where a synthetic coating softens and can fuse to skin.
What is the difference between ABS and fibreglass helmets?
ABS is a thermoplastic: light, stiff and the general-purpose choice. Fibreglass is a thermoset: heavier, and it holds its shape at temperatures where ABS would soften. ABS is the right buy unless the site names a standard that requires a thermoset shell, or the helmet sees sustained heat.
Can a face shield be used instead of safety glasses?
No. A face shield is a secondary barrier. It does not seal at the sides and does not stop everything arriving at eye level, so spectacles are worn underneath it. A welding mask is a different product again: it filters light rather than stopping splash.
Can I wear these over my prescription glasses?
Only the over-glasses build is designed for that. The wrap-around pair is a direct-wear spectacle with no internal clearance, so putting it over another frame distorts the fit and opens gaps at the side, which is exactly where the protection was meant to be.
Do earmuffs work under a safety helmet?
The slim wire-band build is the one designed for that. A padded band under a helmet usually breaks the helmet fit and pushes the cups off the seal, which loses more protection than the padding gains.
Can PPE be branded with a company logo?
Yes, subject to the standard being worked to. Marking must not be applied where it would affect the shell or cover the required certification marking, so placement is checked at order stage rather than left to the printer.
Need a Kit List or a Class Match?
Send the hazard, the standard you are buying against, and what else the wearer has on at the same time. We reply with the builds that fit together.
