Hi Vis Jackets
Three jackets, three climates of the same shift.
A bomber for the shoulder season, a softshell for wind and abrasion, a fleece-lined build for winter. Same reflective principle, different layer in the stack.
What we supply
A high-visibility jacket has to solve two problems at once: be seen, and be the layer that is actually worn at the temperature the shift happens in. The three builds here sit at different points in that stack. The bomber is the light shoulder-season piece with banding on the sleeves as well as the body. The softshell adds a fabric with some body to it and moves the black into the abrasion zones so the fluorescent face stays readable. The fleece-lined build puts the insulation inside the same garment, which removes the vest-over-fleece combination workers take off first. What each one has to meet is confirmed at order stage against the standard it is being bought for.

FAQ | Hi vis jackets
What buyers ask before specifying a high-visibility jacket — which build for which season, why the sleeves carry banding, and what the garments are not.
Which jacket suits which season?
The bomber is the light shoulder-season piece and works over a shirt or a thin mid-layer. The softshell sits in the middle — wind-resistant, some body to the fabric, worn over a base layer with a shell on top if it rains. The fleece-lined jacket is the winter build and replaces a separate fleece plus vest.
Why put reflective bands on the sleeves as well as the body?
A vest leaves the arms unmarked, so a worker reaching forward, signalling or carrying something has part of their silhouette outside the reflective area. Sleeve banding closes that gap. The trade-off is that sleeve bands sit on the part of the garment that flexes most, so they are stitched and specified to survive that movement — durability across the elbow is confirmed against the wash programme supplied with the order.
Is the softshell waterproof?
No. It is wind-resistant and takes light surface moisture, but it is not a waterproof garment. If the requirement is to keep rain out, the rain jacket in this range is the correct piece. All three jackets are cut so a shell can be worn over them without the sleeve banding bunching badly.
Why is the black placed on the sides and sleeves of the softshell?
Those are the abrasion zones — the parts of a work jacket that rub against plant, loads and vehicle panels. Putting black there keeps the fluorescent face clean, and a clean fluorescent face is what keeps the garment readable. A fluorescent panel scuffed grey at the edges loses contrast exactly where it is looked at.
Does a fleece lining affect the reflective banding?
It changes how the band is loaded. Cold makes a reflective band less supple and more likely to crack across a hard fold, so on a lined jacket the band placement avoids the deepest creases at the elbow and waist. A lined garment also dries differently after washing, which is why the wash programme is part of the specification.
How do I size a lined jacket compared with an unlined one?
The lining volume is accounted for in the sizing, so a lined jacket is not simply the unlined size with fleece added. Send the measurements you would order in an unlined build and the equivalent lined size is confirmed against them at order stage.
Can the jackets be branded?
Yes. Printing and heat-applied marks are specified per order. Send vector artwork with the placement marked. Placement matters more than usual on a high-visibility jacket: a large mark on the back can cover fluorescent area and change the class of the garment.
How do they wash?
Wash performance is confirmed per build against the wash programme supplied with the order. Abrasion is the main risk to the banding, so band placement and stitching matter as much as the material. Industrial laundering is a separate specification from home wash, and a lined jacket adds drying time to either.
Band width, band count and the resulting standard class are confirmed at order stage for the specific build. Lining weight and panel placement are fixed at sampling. Reflective banding returns light toward its source and does not glow on its own. Only the rain jacket in this range is specified for wet weather; the softshell and bomber are not waterproof.
Tell us the season and the layer.
Send the working temperature range, what the wearer has underneath and the standard the jacket must meet, and the answer comes back with the build and a price.
