Overview
Reflective HTV in colour rather than silver, for brands that want the trim to disappear into the garment by day and light up at night. Black, white, yellow and red are standard; any Pantone colour can be matched.
Why it suits colour-led designs
- Full, uniform colour across the roll with a working retroreflective face
- Custom colours matched to Pantone
- A white back liner on bright colours stops the dark shell fabric showing through
- Cut, weed and heat press like standard HTV
- Supplied up to 140 cm wide, 50 m or 100 m per roll

Colour costs brightness, and the number shows it
A coloured HTV sits below the retroreflective threshold because the colour layer absorbs light before it can be returned. That is a property of the material rather than a limitation of one supplier - plan a silver element alongside it if the garment needs a claim.
What to confirm before ordering
- Carrier and artwork detail: fine line work needs the heavier carrier to hold registration.
- Press parameters: temperature, pressure and dwell are set per build; confirm against your own press.
- Base fabric: send the shell so the adhesive is matched to it.
- Wash cycle: domestic or industrial, stated up front.
Compliance note
Colour and effect layers sit in the optical path and absorb most of the returned light, so this surface does not reach the 330 cd/(lx·m²) that EN ISO 20471 requires for retroreflective material, at any grade. It is specified for appearance, not for a certified hi-vis claim.
Where a garment needs a claim, a plain silver element has to carry it. Colour for design and silver for performance can sit on the same garment - they just have to be planned together.
