Overview

A silver glass-bead reflective fabric on a flame retardant base, for garments that have to stay visible and stay FR at the same time. Two bases are available: 100% cotton for cotton FR clothing, and aramid for garments that see the highest heat and the most aggressive laundering.

Why it suits industrial laundry

  • Over 50 industrial wash cycles at ISO 15797, 75 °C with 90 °C tumble dry
  • Silver glass-bead face at over 420 cd/(lx·m²)
  • 100% cotton and aramid bases, so the trim matches the garment base
  • Slit from 1 cm to 140 cm
  • Specified for EN ISO 20471, ANSI/ISEA 107 and NFPA 2112 programmes, with test documentation confirmed per order

Two properties, two sets of evidence

Industrial-wash durability and flame retardancy are independent properties with separate evidence, and a fabric can hold one without the other. Ask for both, and state the laundry cycle the durability claim refers to.

What to confirm before ordering

  • Reflectivity class: confirm the grade against your target rather than the colour.
  • Width and slitting: up to full roll width, or slit to trim width.
  • Attachment: sewn or heat applied - choose one process and keep it.
  • Wash cycle: domestic or industrial, stated up front.

Compliance note

The silver glass-bead face is stated at over 420 cd/(lx·m²), which clears the 330 cd/(lx·m²) floor that EN ISO 20471 sets for retroreflective material. Flame retardancy is a separate property with its own standard and its own test report; passing one does not imply the other. Confirm both documents against the same batch, and confirm that the 420 figure holds after the wash cycle you specify.

If the finished article has to carry an EN ISO 20471 or ANSI/ISEA 107 claim, say so before the order: the grade and the evidence are chosen together, and changing either afterwards means a new build.
