Overview
A segmented tape that combines reflective performance with glow-in-the-dark visibility in a striped structure. Breaking the tape into segments improves flexibility and breathability compared with a solid reflective band, which matters on garments worn for a full shift.
Key features
- Combines luminous glow with retroreflective performance
- Segmented structure improves flexibility and breathability versus solid tape
- Stripe orientation, width, spacing and overall tape width can be customised
- Suits long-term performance requirements on workwear
- Reads as a design element in daylight

Common questions
Why use a segmented tape?
Segments improve flexibility and breathability compared with a solid reflective band, while keeping both reflective and glow visibility.
Can the stripe layout be customised?
Yes. Stripe orientation, width, spacing and the overall tape width can all be specified.
Does it reflect as well as a solid tape?
The reflective segments are retroreflective. The layout trades some continuous area for flexibility, so tell us your target garment and we will advise the right configuration.
Not sure which luminous construction fits your garment? Send us the application, target width and care requirements, and we will recommend the matching build.
Segments give flex and cost luminous area
Segmenting lets the tape follow a curve without cracking, but each gap is area that neither glows nor reflects. On a narrow tape the percentage lost is larger than it looks on a drawing.
What to confirm before ordering
- Charging exposure: how much light the panel sees before use decides the afterglow.
- Afterglow requirement: duration and brightness are confirmed per build - give a target.
- Carrier or backing: glow is delivered on different carriers; confirm which suits your process.
- Wash cycle: luminous layers dim with washing, so state domestic or industrial.
Compliance note
No single retroreflective figure is quoted for this build, and a number without its test method and wash cycle would not be comparable anyway. Confirm the measured value for the grade you order, on the substrate you order it on.
If the finished article has to carry an EN ISO 20471 or ANSI/ISEA 107 claim, say so before the order: the grade and the evidence are chosen together, and changing either afterwards means a new build.
