Common questions

Which grade do I need?

It depends on how the vehicle is registered: national class I or II for domestic registration, DOT-C2 for the United States, ECE for European approval. Tell us the market and we will match the code.

Is it available for flexible substrates?

Yes. Reflector-type and sealed-capsule constructions are in the range for substrates that flex in service.

How is it supplied?

In rolls, cut to the widths used by fleet workshops and body builders.

Send the vehicle or sign type and the market it is registered in, and we will confirm the matching construction and quotation.

Conspicuity marking has its own rules

Vehicle markings are governed by dimensional and placement rules that are separate from garment standards, and the grade has to match the vehicle category. Confirm the regulation that applies before selecting the film.

What to confirm before ordering

  • Substrate: flat panel, aluminium, plastic or vehicle body - the adhesive follows the surface.
  • Service life and exposure: indoor, outdoor or road-facing, and for how many years.
  • Grade: commercial, engineering or high intensity, chosen against viewing distance rather than price.
  • Regulation in scope: signage and vehicle marking rules are separate from garment standards.

Compliance note

No single retroreflective figure is quoted for this build, and a number without its test method and wash cycle would not be comparable anyway. Confirm the measured value for the grade you order, on the substrate you order it on.

If the finished article has to carry an EN ISO 20471 or ANSI/ISEA 107 claim, say so before the order: the grade and the evidence are chosen together, and changing either afterwards means a new build.
