Overview
A high-visibility polo for warm weather, when a jacket is not an option and a vest over a shirt is the thing workers take off first. Piqué knit, ribbed collar, two-button placket, and reflective piping run along the shoulder seams and around the sleeve hems — placed where the reflective element can sit without turning a polo into a banded safety garment.
Construction
- Fluorescent yellow-green piqué knit
- Reflective piping on the front shoulder seams and sleeve hems
- Ribbed collar with a two-button placket
- Short sleeves, straight hem with short side vents
What piping buys and what it costs
Piping keeps the shirt wearable — it does not stiffen the shoulder or add weight — but it carries far less reflective area than a band. This is the garment for a role that has to look like clothing and be seen at close range, not for a role that has to satisfy a formal high-visibility class after dark. If the latter is the requirement, a banded sweatshirt or a vest is the correct piece.
Typical use
Site supervision and management visits, event and venue staff, delivery and facilities roles, and summer workwear where a full vest is impractical.
Knit fabric moves under a rigid trim
A polo stretches at the chest and shoulder, and a rigid reflective trim there will pucker. A stretch or segmented trim holds the line; a standard tape will fight the knit.
What to confirm before ordering
- Target class: the class you intend to sell against, decided before the panel is drawn.
- Market: EN ISO 20471, ANSI/ISEA 107 or CSA-Z96 - the three are not interchangeable.
- Size range: reflective area and placement are assessed per size, not only on the sample size.
- Laundry regime: domestic or industrial, since it sets the trim grade.
Compliance note
A finished garment is the article that gets certified. The reflective elements, the fluorescent background and their placement are assessed together, so the class depends on the whole build rather than on the trims used.
That means the class has to be decided before the panel is designed, not read off a material label afterwards.
