Overview
Reflective yarn with the reflective face on one side only, carried on a PET film core. It knits, braids and weaves like a normal yarn, so the reflective line becomes part of the structure of the fabric rather than a trim added afterwards.

Why single side
One reflective face keeps the yarn thinner and softer than a double side build, which is what most knit and braid structures want. The reflective side faces out through the stitch, so the fabric reads as grey in daylight and lights up under a headlight.
Where a single face is enough
If the yarn is laid flat or worked so one face stays outward, a single-face build gives more brightness per millimetre than a double-face one. It stops being enough the moment the structure is open or seen from both sides.
What to confirm before ordering
- Finished diameter: made to order from ≥0.5 mm - give the cord or trim size you need.
- Twist and construction: determines how much reflective face stays visible.
- Exposure: state whether the yarn is exposed or enclosed; it decides whether a backing is needed.
- Reflective layer: silver or high reflective tape, chosen against the brightness you need.
Compliance note
The stated figure is over 250 cd/(lx·m²), below the 330 cd/(lx·m²) floor, and a yarn is a narrow-format element rather than a retroreflective material assessed on its own. Treat it as a design component: it improves visibility, it does not carry a 20471 claim by itself. Confirm the measured value at the stitch density and wash cycle you will specify.
If the finished article has to carry an EN ISO 20471 or ANSI/ISEA 107 claim, say so before the order: the grade and the evidence are chosen together, and changing either afterwards means a new build.
